Diary 1 November 8,1972
- My name is William Scott (35). I currently live in the outskirts of London, but will be moving soon because of economic problems. I attended Brunel University and received a Ph.D in Psychology. I should be leaving London for the U.S in a couple of days . I wish all goes well because I hear puffs of information flowing in the wind about arguments between two groups of people. Although, I am a bit confused because I cant`t imagine a liberal country like the U.S having disputes. I believe I would have to wait and see.

- It is completely different than what I had thought. The past months I have been settling into a vast and temperate area. I have seen many Native Americans around the area, but they always seem to vanish after a certain amount of time. I rapidly recognized that my own kind were insulting and forcing the other natives away. I felt sick. How can someone do this? A common problem in humans is not thinking about the other person. I`ve studied this for 8 years and have learned that people do horrific things to other people, but weep when the jokes on them. I hear that not only are they sent away but many are put into camps. The camps are called reservations which are located in the west territories. I wonder if people know what this can cause? A camp can cause emotional problems like lowered self-esteem and denial. These places also hurt them outside the mind, these people which are no different than us are now limited to the opportunities in the "land of the free" .

- I`ve slowly been gasping at the way the whites have confidently told the Native Americans to leave. So far, simple sentences like "you must leave this area" have been used constantly. The Native Americans leave because of various threats of hurting their friends and families. As time advances the threats do become less noticeable but definitely still stand. I received a letter from Brunel University of an opening to be a professor in the history of psychology. I`ve decided to gladly take the job and move back to London. I hope that the Native Americans can escape these problems, considering the time period and the progress of civil rights. I know the discrimination is only noticeable to people near the camps, but hopefully people in other places can eventually see it too. This being said I am nervous to hear updates on this issue which can worsen or better.
