Diary 1 April 9, 1974
- Robert Moses comes up to me and tells me a way that my life would be way better and easier. So I listened to him as 1 of his troops I went along and followed by his rules. He also told me that the job was going to pay alot, so I accepted. All we were going to be ordered to do was force some natives away from an area in the North East, so that Robert can start his new project of building a hydro-power plant My family and I were happy until he told us what I was going to do to get the money that everyone wanted. I was going to do something horrible, never to be forgotten; we were going to commit many crimes, notorious incidents such as the Trail of Tears.
Diary 2 April 10, 1974
- As I woke, I got ready for the day. Robert told me that we were going to force Native Americans into being our slaves for our own personal use. My wife wasn’t quite fond of that. I tried to explain that we were going through hard times and would need to do what we need to do in order to get the things that we needed. She didn’t understand she left me and the killing began. We were attacking the ones that didn’t want to participate and forcing the ones who did participate to do everything for us. It felt so good to be in power but so bad to be doing them so wrong. We had to do what we had to do so we couldn’t hold back.
Diary 3 April 11, 1974
- The last day I found a girl trying to escape she was very hurt and abused. I didn’t no rather I should take her back or let her go I really felt sorry for her. She looked horrible she was afraid when she saw my face and it made me think about my children, how they would feel after they have been beaten almost to death. At that moment my heart just gave in and I gave up. I had quit.
